Update on our Benefice Services

Update on our Benefice Services

Dear Friends,

I am just writing to remind you that this week’s service in church (Sunday, 26th July) will be Holy Communion at St Mary’s, Bures at 10.30am. The service will be led by Mary Cantacuzene.

There will also be the usual on-line service via our YouTube channel – St. Mary’s Parish Church, Bures.

Numbers attending church

As a result of the requirement for 2m social distancing in churches, the maximum congregation at St Mary’s is presently limited to 50.

So as with previous weeks, it is very important for the churchwardens to have a good idea in advance of the numbers likely to attend the service on Sunday.

For this reason, can I ask you please to reply to this email as soon as possible, using the church office email address, or telephone Nicola in the benefice office to let me and the churchwardens know if you are intending to come to the service. We can then judge if the numbers planning to attend can be safely accommodated. If the likely numbers are too great, we will arrange a second service on the same day at Bures.

Will there still be Coffee and Chat via Zoom? Yes, both Sunday morning Zoom meetings will continue for the present, but at different times to accommodate the service in church. So, the Assington gathering and short act of worship will now be at 9.30am and the Benefice Coffee and Chat at 11.30am.

Next Week – Sunday 2nd August- there will be a service of Holy Communion at St Mary’s, Bures at 10.30am, led by me. This will be followed in August by services at Bures on 16th and 30th, and at both Assington and Little Cornard on 9th and 23rd.

As ever, if anything is unclear or you need re-assurance on anything, please do email or give me a call and I will do my best to help.

With blessings and best wishes

We are safe, we are forgiven, we have been given God’s Spirit.   We have eternal hope.  We have been given life.
